What can corpus linguistics tell us? Four examples explained

What is corpus linguistics and what type of knowledge can we get by using it? Jędrzej Olejniczak goes through the basics in his vlog post.

By corpus we mean collections of texts: written, oral or sometimes something else. Corpus linguists look for statistics in the corpora - for instance what type of words appear together. In his vlog for Kielingua, Jędrzej introduces four studies that have applied corpus linguistics. Watch and enjoy!

Jędrzej Olejniczak is a doctoral researcher at the University of Opole in Poland whose research interests lie in corpus linguistics and translation studies.
